Scherer Brothers
Description
Lumber store in Hopkins, Minnesota.
Since our humble beginning in 1930, Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. has grown to offer a great deal more to customers than our founders ever dreamed. We’re proud we have become the leading source of building products, services, and industry knowledge for builders in the Twin Cities Area.
Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. began during the Great Depression, with logs brought up from the bottom of the Mississippi. Our values back then were simple: to work hard and to do the right thing for our customers. We were rewarded with loyalty from three generations of builders in the Twin Cities Area. Today, our values remain the same. Integrity and commitment to our customers are what drive us.
We understand that as a contractor, you have many choices. You can choose where you buy your lumber, where you order custom-made pieces for that special build, or who you call when you need support. Our mission is to be the outstanding materials, services, and solutions provider for the Twin Cities Area construction industry. We strive to make your life easier by offering exceptional products, solutions, and services all in one place—and a relationship you can trust.
For nine decades, we’ve been building relationships that last. To us, that’s what it means to be a family business. We have employees who have worked for Scherer Bros. for more than 40 years. We partner with builders who started coming to the lumberyard as kids, back when their dads managed the family construction business. Just like our fathers and grandfathers, we mean it when we say we’re here to help you build whatever it is—together.
Our operating guidelines are our daily blueprint to bringing our best to each area of our business:
Work safely.
Recognize the best in others.
Communicate honestly, directly, and continuously.
Promote personal and professional well-being and growth.
Keep agreements and accept accountability.
Balance professional, family, and spiritual needs.
Respect the ideas of others.
Be creative, explore opportunities, and improve continuously.
